Ellie asked us to sign her up for baseball this year. After asking her about ten times if she was sure she wanted to do it, Wade signed her up for tee-ball. Saturday was player evaluation day. Is it just me or does it seem like a little much to evaluate kids who are four and five for a tee ball team?
We got to the school and it was raining so there were about sixty kids, with their parents crammed inside a little elementary school gym. I counted three other girls there, none of which were her age. She had to run across the gym...timed, catch a few ground balls, and hit the ball twice. Seriously, all this for tee ball.
Not being a sports person, I don't totally get all this. But I do know I liked watching my kid run super fast across that gym and hearing some of the parents say she's fast'. There's a small chance I may have been taunting her before it was her turn to run asking her if she thought she could beat some of the boys that went before her. (wink, wink)
