hitchin' a ride

Let the summer of bike rides begin!
The bikes arrived last week. We bought a kid seat instead of the ride on attachment I was looking at, so Ellie can ride along with me this summer.
Sunday morning I was getting groceries out of the car and she came out the front door and said "Mom. Me and you are takin' a ride on that bike right now!" So I dropped the bags, strapped her in, and we took off.
I realized that it has been a long time since I rode a bike and it's a lot more work than I remembered. Especially considering we only have one street in our neighborhood that's not a hill and I had an extra 40 lbs on back.
