disposable

Lately Ellie does not listen. Actually, I think she listens but just chooses to do the complete opposite of whatever it is we asked.

To help fix the problem, Wade came up with a plan. Each time Ellie doesn't listen to us, she has to pick out one of her toys and throw it away. I love this plan, it helps us to get rid of some of the crap we have in our house and it teaches her a lesson at the same time.

To be fair, she gets a warning, and if she keeps on acting up the counting begins. So far, we have thrown away 13 toys. The best part is that Wade makes her throw them in the trash.
She hates it! She cries the entire time, which should make me feel bad, but the toys she picks are little crappy things that are either broken or she hasn't touched them in months, maybe even years. It's not like we are throwing away her favorite things.

I wouldn't say it's working that great to get her to listen, but at least we are getting rid of some of the junk we have. Let's just hope Wade doesn't try this on me when I annoy him.
