Yesterday Wade got off work early because he worked late the night before. He picked up Ellie early from school and they spent the afternoon together. They got donuts and rented a Christmas movie and he took her to the mall because she needed new sneakers. So he calls me from the mall and when I asked what he was doing he said he 'could not get her back in the stroller'. (smart move taking the stroller into the mall) But what he was really calling to tell me was that she talked him into buying her a pair of jellies. That's right, jellies. I can't believe they still make them, but more importantly, I can't believe just how excited Ellie is to own a pair. They are the clear kind. I told her that I had pink ones when I was little. I don't think she believed me.
She wore them all night until she slipped and fell down the steps because anyone who has ever worn jellies knows that those suckers are super slippery, inside and out.
