I don't think they made it sound like a dare at first, but I think it was a dare. Otherwise, why would I have agreed to it? How could they have convinced me so easily to do something I had not done in a really long time.
I'm talking about running. I'm talking about the email or phone call (I can't remember which) from Erin that she and Kelly were planning to run a race and they wanted me to do it with them.
Running? I barely walk my dog around the block and they wanted me to start running, not just running...training. For a half marathon.
And I said yes.
So instead of hiding out in my house from the heat this summer, I was running with these crazy girls who had somehow convinced me to do this.
And now that its over I can say I'm glad they did.
Because a little bit after noon on Saturday October 16, with .2 miles left to go, I saw my sweet Ellie girl in a crowd of faces on the side of the road, gave her a big kiss and crossed the finish line.
It might not seem like much to most people, but I am pretty proud of us.
