lizzie maguire is like the bomb at shopping

A few years ago I was walking through a department store with my sisters, my mom and my neice Emma. She stopped me a few times to point out some cool clothes, because, you know, I am the cool aunt and then she said "Lizzie Maguire is like the bomb at shopping." I agreed and we quickly caught up to the rest of our crew. She was little, I'm not sure how old, and I can remember thinking then how funny it was that she knew what it meant to be the "bomb" at anything. I'm pretty sure its no longer cool to be the "bomb" at something and I'm pretty sure Emma's taste has changed a lot, since she just turned 11.
A few weeks ago I had the same kind of experience with Ellie and it made me think of Emma. We were in Erin's car with her, Aidan and Clare and Aidan said "Hey, do you guys know Lady Gaga?" Personally I am way out of touch with today's pop culture, my three year old daughter, on the other hand, is not. She said "Yea, I know her, she talks funny." Huh. Then she and Aidan started chanting that they wanted Erin to put on the "butterflies" song. (Party in the USA by Miley Syrus) And once the song was on, she was actually singing some of the words. Wow, you think you know someone.
No wonder she always jumps at the chance to ride in Erin's car. She has the cool music. I don't even have any kids cds in my car, much less something cooler.
Wade and I bought a cd with the song on it for her last weekend and let's just say we are all very familiar with the song now.
