Sometimes you think you know someone. All their likes and dislikes, strengths and weaknesses and then one sunny, windy Saturday afternoon, you agree to take a ride to visit with an old friend who is in town on business and your eyes are opened to a whole new world.
Did you know we live less than 5 miles from an Archery Club? Yeah, I know, I was surprised too. Wade has a friend from college who works for a company that sells bows and arrows (yup, as in hunting) who was in town working at an archery festival so we stopped by to see him on Saturday afternoon. We walked up to his company's tent and said hi to him and the next thing I know, he is putting this contraption in my hand telling me to shoot the target in front of me. Two shots and my arms felt like spaghetti. Ellie, on the other hand loved it, and did a pretty good job of hitting the target too. She even wanted to try the one that Wade was shooting which was almost as big as me. They had a bunch of spots that you could shoot animal targets, where Wade killed a boar, shot him right in the heart and shot another one in the eye. Elle was so excited when he hit the first one, she was jumping up and down yelling "Yea Dad! You got it!"
The rest of the time we were there, she was running around with an arrow in her hand pretending to shoot everyone who walked by.
Huh....
