Three

Saturday was the big day! Ellie turned 3. I am pretty sure I said this when she turned two and I'll probabaly say it next year too, but I can't believe it. I wonder if even when your kids turn 21 are you saying I still remember the day she was born, like it was yesterday. I hope so.
We have been preparing for her birthday party for the last few weeks and every time we made a decoration, or baked some cookies, or filled the goody bags, she said 'this is going to be the best birthday party ever!'
She wanted to have a Tinkerbell party, so that's what we did. I got wings and made magic wands out of sticks and yarn pom poms and Wade said if boys were invited to the party, I couldn't just have wings. So I made some green capes for the boys. Most of the kids put on the wings and capes and kept them on while they ran around they yard looking for all the surprises we put out for a treasure hunt. I thought I would be organized about it and make maps and have the kids look for each treasure one by one. But I ran out of time to make the map and it turned out to be way better just having the stuff out in the yard and letting them find it themselves. There was a lollipop 'flower garden', a 'birds nest' filled with plastic eggs with candy inside and a 'treasure box' filled with little boxes with the kids names on them that also had candy in them.
I think there may have been a little too much candy because some of the kids were bouncing off the walls by then end of the party. My sweet tooth kind of has a reputation with my friends, even their kids know that Momo's got the candy at her house.
Everything came out great, Elle had the best time and I think everyone else did too. Elle and Clare snuck in the house to open her presents, luckily we got in there in time to see her open most of them. Though I am still trying to figure out who gave her what.
