Well, here we are. A new year. A new decade.
A few weeks ago Wade and I were talking about our plans for the new year. You know, budget, declutter, organize, same as everyone else in the universe. The difference is that when I told Wade that I really wanted the go through the house and get rid of stuff that we don't use, don't need or just plain don't want anymore. He had different plans.
While everyone else was hitting the after Christmas sales(me), eating the last of the Christmas cookies(me) and buying storage bins to organize their life(not me), Wade was hanging up a plastic tarp from one end of our house to the other in an effort to keep me from losing my mind while he (with the help of my Dad) tore down two walls, half the ceiling and moved the back door from the kitchen to the dining room. So instead of three small rooms, we have one big room in our downstairs. I had no idea how much I would love it until he took the walls down, but it is awesome!
Poor Magoo is all confused about how to get out of the house because the refrigerator is where the back door used to be and he can't go out the new back door yet because there are no steps. So on Saturday, he was standing in front of the refrigerator kind of whining and looking at me all puzzled.
And just like that, after 3 days, we have a new space in our house! I think we should have an 'open house' party when its done...get it?
