On New Years Eve we went to a What the 'Heck' are You Wearing party at the Healeys. As a special treat, Nana and Papa who were down for the Great Kitchen Demo 2009 offered to keep Ellie girl home with them while Wade and I went to the party. A win-win for everyone, since the Healey kids had pink eye- ewwwwwww and we had planned to drive home from the party after midnight, which I was nervous enough about just having Wade in the car with me. And its been a really long time since Nana & Papa have babysat just one grandkid.
At one point while we were getting ready to go, Elle said to me "Mom, I want you to go out with Dad and I'll stay here." Ummm...ok. As our 'WTH are You Wearing', Wade and I wore the fur coats that were his grandma's. And now are mine, since his mom knew I was about the only one who would not only want them, but actually pull them out a few times a year to wear them. I also have a fur collar/scarf type thing and a fur hat. Wade wore the bear coat (not sure if its bear, but that's what we call it) and the hat, and I wore the mink coat with the collar thingy. Plus I also wore my sparkly clip-on earrings that were Mongie's and my cameo ring that was my Grandma Hartley's. So everyone came to the party.
We had so much fun. I was telling my Mom the next day that I didn't even notice the kids at the party because I didn't have one there to worry about.
