Griffin and Sabine

Last year Ellie received a post card with a British flag on the front straight from the jolly old England. Mick was living in London at the time, going to school and sent post cards to all the kids. We have Uncle Traveling Matt and the kids have Uncle Traveling Mick. How fun to have an uncle who not only travels the world, but makes sure to bring a souvenir home from every place he goes.
It reminded me of this book series Griffin and Sabine which is a sweet correspondence between two strangers. Getting mail is a fun enough surprise, but when it comes from another country, it makes it even more special.
Mick was in town this weekend to celebrate Aidan's 4th birthday and Elle got to spend some time with him, which I believe she loved. Although he got the cold shoulder when he first came in the house, it didn't take her long to start sassing him, just like her mama would. And by the time he left this morning, she was asking me what his house looks like and why he was leaving.
Its a cool little friendship they have so far. And it should be pretty fun to see how it unfolds over the years.
