We had the best time at the cookout, lots of family and friends hanging out at my parents awesome new house right on the water. My mom got a little baby pool for the kids to play in, which Elle spent most of the day in. Wade kept telling her to stop drinking the water and of course she did not listen. So after a few warnings, he walked over to the pool and kicked the side of the pool to splash her and get her attention. I was in the house and she comes walking in crying telling me "Daddy kicked me!" I was laughing because I know how she is always trying to play us against each other if she's not getting what she wants.
So we decided to get Daddy back and we filled a paper plate up with whipped cream and walked outside and offered to share our dessert with Daddy. Either he had no idea what we were up to or he was putting on a really good front because I thought he looked sincere when he said he would like to share the dessert with her. We walked up close and he was sitting down and we smushed that plate of whipped cream right in his face. Everyone was cracking up, including Wade. Well, everyone except for Elle. As soon as we pulled the plate off Wade's face she burst into tears. Not exactly the reaction I thought the little prank would get.
What can you do, she is super protective of her people, just like her mama!
