Stole another sweet moment between Elle and Wade this morning...
I was drying my hair in our spare bedroom and had the door cracked open just enough to see Wade sitting down on the chair in our room tying his shoes. Then I watched Elle bounce over to him as he started picking some clothes out of the basket of clean laundry sitting on the floor next to him. He was searching through some of her clothes, so she could pick out what she would wear for today.
She started taking the clean clothes out one piece at a time and laying them on his knee. And he patiently sat there letting her make a neat little pile of her clothes, even though we barely have a spare second in the morning for anything else besides getting out the door, he just sat there until she was done. And then he took each piece and laid them out on the floor for her to choose.
I love watching him with her. He is the better parent of the two of us, he really takes the time to stop what he is doing and let these little life moments happen. (whether he realizes it or not)
A friend recently said to me "A girl needs her time with her Dad" and I believe she is right about that.
