A few months ago, I read Revolutionary Road. In that book, they use the term "a real goody". I am not using the term the same as it was used in the book, but I think it is a good way to describe a "goody" of a story.
This morning around 4:30, I heard a truck outside. After a few minutes I got up to look out the window and I saw that it was a ambulance on the street behind ours. I got back into bed and a few minutes later I heard a car door open and shut and drive away, then I heard the same thing three more times. I looked out the window again and saw a police car driving away from the house with the ambulance. So that's 4 police cars and an ambulance...what could happen that you need that many emergency vehicles on one scene?
As usual, my curiosity got the better of me and I jumped out of bed, threw on some shorts and sneakers and took Magoo for a walk. Its not like I would have been able to fall back asleep anyway since I had a little girl hogging my pillow.
Having a dog is a great decoy for nosey people. And I am just about as nosey as you can get.
We get around the block and the ambulance is there and so is a police car and as far as I can tell there is no emergency. Oh well, at least Magoo got a nice little walk out of it.
A long time ago I worked with a girl and she said to me once..."Are you sure you're not half Puerto Rican...you're so nosey!" Who knew people from Puerto Rico are nosey? She was from Puerto Rico, so I guess she would know.
