Busy, Busy, Busy

Saturday we were on our way to gymnastics and Wade told me about this Kids Consignment sale he heard about on the radio. He encouraged me to go (and not spend a fortune), so he dropped me off at the sale and he took Elle to gymnastics alone. Some stuff was a little over-priced and the selection was not as great as I had expected, but I managed to find some cute stuff which included: 3 tee shirts, a set of summer pjs, 2 books, 1 DVD, a puzzle and birthday gifts for 2 of Elle's pals. All good purchases.
Wade and Elle seemed to have some fun daddy/daughter time at gymnastics. From there we ran to the laundry-mat to wash all of our comforters, then the food store and then home. I did some yard work while Ellie splashed around (fully clothed) in her little pool. Once she was cold enough and tired enough, she went inside to take a break and watch some TV. Wade was prepping the windows in the house for the new ones to be installed on Friday. Saturday night we got all the candy together for her birthday BBQ and once she was in bed I wrapped all of her presents.
Sunday we did some running around early, which included a trip to Joann's where I foolishly let her walk instead of ride in the cart ( a mistake I continue to make, even though I know how it will turn out...I can't help it, I love her obsession with doing "big kid" stuff). Here's how it went, she carried a metal decorative garden duck around the store the whole time and was not happy when I informed her that the duck was not coming home with us and that he had to go back on the shelf with his other friends. Then while I was paying, she grabbed her cup from my bag and laid down in the checkout aisle to drink it. Oh well, like Wade said "Maybe she was tired". On the way home she must have asked me 100 times if the duck was back with his friends and if we can go back to see him.
We had some lunch outside and did some more yard work. She found an elephant shaped sprinkler under one of the trees in our yard and started carrying it around the yard. At one point I heard her say "There's your Mama", I think she was talking about me. She put him in her little swing and he even got a few licks of her ice pop.
