Last night, on my way home, I was sitting at a stop light and there was a girl standing on the corner with a cardboard sign announcing that she is homeless and willing to take any help she could get.
Personally, I have very little patience for people begging on the side of the road, or anywhere for that matter. I think its kind of rude, but something about this girl caught my eye. Not the fact that she looked like she needed a shower and a brush through her super long hair, or the sad little cardboard sign she was holding. It was the fact that she was holding that sorry little sign in her bare hands...no gloves!
I mean, yesterday was freezing and today its even colder, her hands were probably frozen onto that sign. I hate more than anything to be out in the cold without gloves, I would rather go outside without a jacket than without gloves in the winter, so when the light turned green and I drove past her, I stopped and gave her an extra pair of gloves that I had in my car.
