That's the Omaha slogan..I'm clever, but not that clever.
When we woke up Friday morning, we heard a quiet whimper outside the bedroom door, it was Houston the Full's chocolate lab. (that's Amy's parent's dog) Wade let her into the bedroom and she was checking us out and came over to the side of the bed and gave Elle a big lick on the cheek. So she is laying there with her eyes still closed and says "No, Bud Bud." Wade and I started laughing and told her it wasn't Magoo, so she jumped up and immediately had to see this other dog.
We went to the zoo in Omaha Friday afternoon with Kay and Brian and Wayne. What a cool zoo, the weather was pretty nice so it was a good day to spend outside. We saw tons of animals and Elle loved it. They have a petting zoo there so we went to check it out. Inside the petting area was pretty funky, lots of mud and "droppings" all over the ground, so I told Wade I was not going in. So he looks in and then turns to his parents and says "That looks like a grandparent thing" So of course, being the great grandparents that they are, they took her in to pet all the goats and chickens.
The zoo is right next to Rosenblatt stadium, which is where the college World Series is played. Wade wanted to check it out but there was no way in. So instead we took a picture of Elle asleep in her stroller in front of the stadium. That one's for you Papa.
When we were younger, my parents took us all on a trip to Boston to look at colleges with my sister and we went to a baseball game at Fenway park, which my dad was psyched about. They took a picture of all of us in front of Fenway with scowls on our faces because we didn't want to be there..haha
After the zoo, we went to visit with Grandma since she is the whole reason we came to Omaha, to celebrate her 90th birthday. Elle was shy for about 2 minutes and then she was showing off all her little tricks for everyone.
Friday night we went to dinner at Wade's Aunt Patty and Uncle Dan's house and Elle got a chance to meet some of her cousins. A lot of Wade's Hughes cousins live in Omaha, and they have young kids so Elle ran around with them all night. She loved hanging out with her new pals Sidney, Kennedy and Laina.
