Worst Parent Moment...Yet

A few weeks ago we were at Walmart and Ellie was standing in the cart- because she cannot sit still anywhere. And as we are walking up and down the aisles, in search of the right size baskets to fit in these cubbies Wade built for our bathroom, it happens...in slow motion.
She is bouncing around in the cart, like she usually does if she wins the battle to sit in the big part of the cart, and she hikes one leg over the front of the cart and before Wade can even stop the cart or one of us can get to the front of the cart, she flips out of it. I think we were all frozen in time for a second. I felt like it took me forever to get to pick her up and poor Wade is trying to move so fast and hits his leg with the cart as he is trying to get it out of his way so he's wincing in pain. Somehow, she did not land on her head, which I still cannot believe, and thank God, since Walmart has a cement floor. She did skin her chin on the bottom rack of the cart and she was crying pretty bad.
So Wade told me to put her down so we could make sure she was walking ok. And after about a minute of walking around, she was fine. After all, that's exactly what she wanted- to be out of the cart.
Wade and I just kind of followed behind her in silence for the next few minutes, waiting for our hearts to start beating again.
