The Godfather in the City of Brotherly Love
Kaygee and Pop Pop arrived in Baltimore on Tuesday and Wayne and Amy arrived in Philly on Friday. The whole family is here to celebrate little Casey's baptism on Sunday the 28th. Saturday we headed up to Philly to do some site seeing with Wayne and Amy. It was a blast. The rain actually stopped for a few hours so we got a chance to check out some cool stuff. We got to have Philly Cheesesteaks for lunch at a place called Campos, Wade and I got ours with "whiz" which made it extra delicious! Elle had some mac & cheese which was also pretty yummy. We walked by the site of Ben Franklin's house, I think Ellie still has a piece of the gravel from the floor in her knee...how historic! We went on a tour of Independence Hall, where Ellie made sure she made enough noise so that it was impossible for anyone in the group to hear what that poor Park Ranger was trying to say. People don't believe me when I tell them that she was not born with an inside voice!
Once we felt Ellie has terrorized the city enough, it was time to say goodbye to Philly. We headed back to the car and drove out to West Chester where we met up with the rest of the Hughes clan at a place called Oasis, which is basically Atlantic City for little kids. Forget about those dark arcades from our childhood- which we weren't even allowed in anyway. This is the coolest place ever...if you're a kid, that is. Its huge and has all these places to climb and slide and games to play and a rock climbing wall and a huge ball pit area. Elle climbed around this huge jungle gym with all these tunnels and slides with Ryan and Shane. And of course she loved it and cried when we left.
That night we went over to Betsy & Jay's for dinner. Once she warmed up to the crowd, Ellie discovered lots of fun things to play with at Aunt Betsy's house- like the mini fridge of beer, which she kept opening and bringing beers out to Uncle Jay. Hilarious.
