puff the magic dragon

This is the last week of preschool for Ellie.  I've been thinking all along that its not that big a deal.  And then I realized last night as two of her teachers gave her a hug as we were walking out of the classroom that this is kind of a big deal.
This place is her home away from home.
She loves it there.
Loves the kids, loves the teachers.
And they love her too.
When she was born, daycare seemed so dreaded.  But now, of course in hindsight, it makes sense.
We needed all these people.
We needed our girl to know that there are a ton of people in the world who love her and that's what she got at this place.
I think we are super lucky to have all these people and this place that she loves.

Last night I took her to get her nails painted for her graduation ceremony on Thursday, as a special treat.  Plus her nails were out-of-control long.
On the way she asked me to play a Puff The Magic Dragon cd and while we drove and I daydreamed about our girl growing up I was feeling a little emotional.  And then she asked me to switch to a Blink 182 cd, saving me from a full on mom meltdown.
