Ellie got her first magic 8 ball.
The first question she asked it was "Is grass soft sometimes?"
It gave some kind of affirmative answer.
She must have been satisfied with the answer and decided to really see what the magic 8 ball was made of because the next question she asked was a little tougher.
"Is God real?"
A little heavy for the magic 8 ball, which quickly responded "Positively".
Sunday she was playing in her room with a new animal set she got for her birthday. The set includes an elephant, giraffe, flamingos, a pelican and a snake. Wade and I were in the front yard planting flowers and she came to the window to tell me her animals were having a staring contest. Cool.
E:"But they are not including the pelican."
M:"Why not?"
E:"Because she's white."
M:"Huh, well, that doesn't seem very nice, to leave her out just because she is white. How would the flamingos feel if they were left out just because they are pink."
E: "Or the giraffe because he has spots, or the elephant because he's grey."
M: "Exactly, how would they feel?"
E: "Not very good. I'll go move her so she can play too."
She bounced away from the window and I just stood there for a minute wondering if we really just had that conversation.
