party

Ellie has been asking to have her birthday party at Chuck E. Cheese since we went to a party there last June. I tried to do a little convincing to just have the party at home. We could get a pinata and a donut cake and have her friends run around the yard and play party games. In my head it would be simple and sweet and so much fun.
And then Wade rented some kind of machine to dig up the yard so he could level out a spot for the trampoline. Mounds of fresh dirt all over the place and a potential hazard of 20 kids trying to jump on a trampoline all at once in a yard that slopes down hill and I was over the moon about the fact that we had booked the party at Chuck E. Cheese.
A ton of her friends came to the party and every time she ran past me she looked like she was having the best time. The kids played games, ate pizza, donuts and cookie cake. And after two hours we packed up all of our stuff and drove back home to our house where the beds were still not made and the dishes were still in the sink.

Because you can do that when you don't have the party at your house!
