When you are four years old I would imagine that summer seems endless. I'm guessing that when Ellie thinks of summer, she sees a string of days that goes on forever filled with swimming at the pool until dark, eating tons of ice pops, staying up late, riding bikes, catching lightening bugs, and the boring everyday stuff kind of fades to the background.
I figure the best thing to do is take on the same state of mind myself. Last Thursday we spent the night at the Healey's so Elle could go to the zoo with Aidan and Clare's school on Friday. We have been swimming every night since Memorial Day. And Ellie has been staying up a little later at night just because it's summer.
All that boring house work can wait until Fall. Well maybe not the laundry, but everything else!
