taking a family picture

On Easter, we thought it would be a good idea to take a picture of all the (present) grandkids with their grandparents. It always seems like a better idea when you are planning it.

Something happens to kids when they know they are going to be in a picture. I can't really put my finger on it, but even the most calm, cooperative kids go nuts. (I can't say I know too many calm, cooperative kids, so I'm kind of guessing here)

All 4 of the older ones seemed to be excited about going outside to take the picure and things started to unravel from there. The good news is, it took so long to gather those 4 together, that the baby woke up.

I doubt any of us will ever learn our lesson and we'll always pick the worst possible time to gather a bunch of kids together and try to force them to sit still, not touch each other, look at the camera and smile. But sometimes its just fun to have a picture of everyone together, even if its not perfect.
