At 3:22 this morning I woke up crunched up on my side in Ellie's bed, so I got up and shuffled into my bed for the last two hours of sleep. It seemed like just as I got into the perfect position, I heard a car alarm going off. Grrr, was what I was thinking and ignored it. A few minutes later it went off again. So now, annoyed, I jump out of bed to see who the numb-skull is whose alarm is going off at 4-something in the morning and pull open the curtain in our bedroom and see two men walking toward our driveway. Oh crap! I woke up Wade and he looked out and I got my phone and called 911. Which I realized as I was dialing is something that I have never done before. After I called and they said the police were on their way, I walked into Ellie's room and she turns over, opens her eyes and says to me "Where are we going Mommy?" Ummmm, how about in my room to watch a show. Once I got her all settled on the bed, I walked back downstairs to wait for the police and I hear Wade yell outside, turns out the creeps were sitting right behind my car in our driveway, and they took off when Wade hollered at them. So scary. Then the police arrived and were driving all around the neighborhood to find the guys. One of the officers came up to the house and asked us to stay inside for a little bit since they were going to bring the K9 unit and they didn't want there to be too many scents for the dog or something. A little while after Turner and Hooch got there, we heard all the crazy barking across the street and when we walked out on the front steps we heard the officer in front of our house say they got one. He told us that it was the German shepherd going crazy because he found one of the guys. Then they found the other guy about 10 minutes later.
Turns out they were 2 guys who stole a car and broke into a bunch of other cars in a different neighborhood and then they came to ours. But they were no match for me and Wade, the crime-stopping duo that we are. It feels good to take a bite out of crime! Well, I guess in all fairness, Baltimore County Police Dept did a pretty good job themselves.
Oh yea, in case you were wondering, Magoo did not even flinch when all of this was going on, as a matter of fact, the only time he made a peep is when the police office came to our front door. Oh yea, and when the other officer came in to get our statements, then he was all excited.
Wow, one of the police officers just called me, as I am typing this, and asked me if I would be willing to testify. He said they are still processing all of the stuff that these guys stole from people's cars. And that they broke the window of our neighbor's car- the one whose alarm was going off.
