Sometimes you get a feeling like something is going to go wrong. And sometimes that feeling is right on. Monday night was our flight to Colorado. Wade had a meeting late in the afternoon so we were worried that we would not have enough time to get to the airport, but his meeting got out early and we ended up leaving his office in plenty of time. As soon as we got to the airport, Wade realized he forgot his wallet in his office, so we rushed back to get it. After a rainy ride back and forth, we ended up back at the airport in time. We got through security with a little time to spare so Elle got to run around for a few minutes.
While we were lined up waiting to get on the plane, Wade handed me our boarding passes and walked away for a minute. The woman next to me says "Excuse me, can you tell that girl that she dropped her license, its on the floor." I tell the 20-something girl standing next to me and she picks up 2 drivers licenses and puts them in her back pocket. Which seemed weird, but I was trying to keep Elle still, so I didn't really think much about it.
After a few minutes, I realized this girl was definitely traveling by herself, so I ask Wade to check if he had our licenses and they were not in his pocket. Oops- I go over to the girl and ask her to check her pocket and sure enough she had our licenses in her pocket.
Once we got on the plane, Elle was sitting on Wade's lap and they were looking out the window and I was being nosey, of course, and watching as a poor woman with two toddlers searched for an open seat on the plane. Next thing I know, Elle is throwing up and Wade is trying to catch it in his hands (poor guy!) I grabbed a bag and she finished getting sick in the bag. And luckily, I had packed a change of clothes for her. So we changed her, and cleaned her up and she passed out for pretty much the whole flight, except for the two times she woke up to get sick again. By the time we arrived in Denver, she was burning up with a fever.
