On The Third Day

Day 3 of new school
4:30 Wake up (me, not Elle)and stare at clock until 5
5:00 Take Magoo for walk because I cannot lay in bed wide awake any longer
5:35 Arrive home from walk, iron clothes for today
5:50 Make lunches and wait for Wade to finish in shower so I can get in
6:00 Wade comes down to kitchen to get some milk for Ellie
6:05 Open cabinet to take out Halloween candy and throw it in the trash because we have all eaten enough of it. The bag was open so half the candy fell on the floor and I bent down to pick it all up, stood up and hit my face on the corner of the cabinet door. Just as this happens, Wade comes downstairs again and asks me what is wrong and I burst into tears. I imagine my face looking like a water balloon that has just popped. I swear the tears are flying out sideways and I list off the things that are wrong...smashed my head, daughter hates daycare, don't want to drop her off, don't want to go to work, tired because of stinkin daylight savings time...on and on and on. Poor Wade, I bet he wished he had never asked.
6:15 Get myself together before going in to say good morning to Elle
6:30 Wade gets Elle dressed and off to work he goes
7:00 Brush teeth and hair and put shoes on, with very little arguing
7:28 Tears start, this time from Elle...."Mommy I don't want you to leave me at school"
7:30 Get in the car, still crying with me trying to talk to her about all the fun stuff at school
7:40 I walk out the door of school and burst into tears (again) because the teacher had to pry a sobbing Elle out of my arms so I could leave

Yup, I think this is going really well, don't you?
