Lately I have been wearing my cameo ring. My mom gave it to me a few years ago for Christmas, it was her mom's. It feels old-fashioned to me. I like thinking of what she was doing when she wore this ring. Did she wear it every day, or was it special and only worn for parties and holidays? I wonder how many times was she wearing this ring when she held her husband's hand, made the sign of the cross at church, hugged one of her children or grandchildren?
I wonder if it was a gift or if it was something she bought herself because it made her feel beautiful to wear it. I wonder if it was a special to her as it is to me.
I guess I will never know what this ring experienced before it came to me, but it's cool to think about and its nice to have a reminder of her that I can carry with me throughout the day.
