I am always joking with Wade that everything we do is a group project. Like if we go to the food store or Home Depot, we all go or if he is doing a "project" I always get roped in to helping him, or at least staying close by in case he needs me to hold something (there is a funny story along these lines about a basement renovation and a 8.5 month pregnant me...but we will save that for another day). Anyway, I am always giving him a hard time about this, but secretly I love it. I love that I have a husband who would rather endure a spend-a-thon with me at Target than sit home by himself. By the way, we also always bring Magoo on our family outings (except in the summer), and let me tell you, that dog would rather sit in the car for hours than be left at the house alone.
So last night on the way home from work, I decided that I was going to finish off our weekend project and put mulch down in the front garden. We (I) pretty much suck at caring for any plant-type stuff, so this is our last attempt at keeping these little beauties safe from the elements, and us. After dinner Elle and I went out front, we hooked Magoo up to the leash and I started to unroll that garden paper. Wade came out and took one look at me and said...
"Well...if you are going to do this, you are going to do it right!"
Which usually translates to Wade doing the majority of the work and me kind of standing on the side lines making sure the kid and dog don't get in his way.
About an hour into the project, he is spreading some mulch around and looks at me and says...
"You know I hate you right now, right?"
To which I chuckled and said...
"Well, what else would you be doing right now?"
No response.
Meanwhile, Elle is playing in my car- driving, pulling all the stuff out of the compartments, turning every button and knob and at one point I looked up to see her hanging onto the bar above the passenger side window- you know the one you grab when in an accicent? Yes, that one and she was hanging upside down.
And Magoo got himself all tangled in the leash and barked at all of our neighbors who were out enjoying the nice weather.
All in all: project complete and it looks pretty darn good if I do say so myself.
