Today it is grey and gloomy, just the kind of day that you want to stay in bed all morning and snuggle. Wade had an early meeting this morning so he brought Elle into bed with me before he left. She was so sweet and snuggly, it took me forever to get up and take a shower, we were just laying there with our arms linked hanging out.
When we went out to the car, she wanted to "run fast" around the yard, so she did a few laps before I had to chase her down to get in the car. She looked so cute running around on this dark, cloudy morning with her bright polka dot rain jacket and boots and her striped pants.
This week, my new bedtime trick is to lay in bed with her and talk and sing. We talk about her day and sing Old McDonald ("Farm Song") and Walkin On Sunshine ("Sunshine Song"- this one cracks her up) and any other songs I can think of all the words to. And she tickles me and plays with my hair or we lay there and pet Magoo.
I think this is something I need to take the time to do every night. I feel like I get so caught up is silly stuff and rushing around to get to the next thing/task/place and I am not taking the time to really hang out with my little pal.

I just went out at lunch time to grab a few ingredients from the store for a new recipe we are going to try tonight and it is warm! Still pretty grey, but it is 64 degrees according to the thermometer in my car. Looks like we are heading to the playground tonight after work. We had so much fun on Monday night, I would like to try to go there as much as possible in the evenings after work so she can have some fun.
