A Week of Tricks & Treats

In our house Halloween is as big as Christmas, in fact if it weren't for Santa, Halloween might beat out Christmas, but come on, free candy does not come close to a guy who delivers piles of presents while you are sleeping!
We have been preparing for the big day all week. Wade carved us some spooky cool pumpkins again this year. They turned out awesome, especially with the battery operated flashing lights we got to put inside them. Elle was not interested in the carving part, but she loved them when they were finished. Magoo on the other hand sat under Wade's chair and ate almost all of the pumpkin shavings as they fell on the floor. I swear that dog should weigh 100 lbs!
Ellie had a halloween party at daycare on Wednesday, everyone wore their costumes and they played games and got goody bags. Kim said she hardly got her to take her costume off for nap time. Which I was happy to hear because when we tried the costume on Monday night, she wanted nothing to do with it.
On Friday night Aidan and Clare came over to trick or treat with us. Elle and Clare were fairies and Aidan was a knight. They looked so cute and they all loved trick or treating. And we got to see Quinn in his monkey costume too.
I think the fist full of lollipops might not have been the best idea since she was still bouncing up and down in bed wide awake at midnight.
Elle even taught herself a new trick in honor of this fantastic holiday. Yesterday when Wade put her down for a nap, she climbed out of her crib. Then last night when we put her in bed, she climbed out 3 more times. Sooooo today, she is in a big girl bed- for good!
