Around this time last year, Ellie started to "talk". Well actually just make some noises. But she started making a "roaring" sound, like she was trying to scare us. Which is exactly how the Monster In The House song got started.
There's a monster in the house, a little monster in the house, her name is Ellie Belle, her name is Ellie Belle. She'll scare you right out of your shoes, she'll scare you right out of your shoes, her name is Ellie Belle, my little Ellie Belle.
You know, it might sound crazy, but I swear this song got us through months 6-12.
Anytime she would get scared or sad or we just needed to distract her, we sang the song. Sadly it has lost its luster and does not have the same effect it used to, now when she hears it, she just gives me a little smile as if to say "Mom, that only worked when I was a baby!"
